Resource management

See who is over-allocated
before you promise the date.

Each person's week against everything they are committed to, in every project, with time off taken out. The clash shows up when you assign the work, not when the deadline slips.

Every person's week across every project, with utilization and billable hours beside it.

What you get

Capacity, leveling and utilization in the plan

Not a separate resourcing tool with its own copy of the projects. The hours, the assignments and the schedule are the same records.

PRO+

Capacity across every project

Each person's weekly hours against everything they are committed to, in every project at once. Booked time off comes out of the hours they have.

PRO+

Load shown when you assign

Pick an assignee and see what that person already has on in those weeks, largest first, before the work lands on them.

PRO+

Forecast the weeks ahead

Plan forward weeks against capacity, with billable and total hours side by side, and a per-project allocation for each person.

All plans

Level resources on the Gantt

Find the weeks someone is over-allocated in a schedule and get suggested moves. Critical and high-priority tasks stay put, and you choose which moves to apply.

BUSINESS+

AI schedule suggestions that respect capacity

Give a deadline and the AI proposes a start and finish for each task, checked against the links and the calendar, and can keep people inside their weekly capacity. A preview you apply or discard.

All plans

Team workload

Group people into teams and read each team's combined load and utilization in one pane.

Read it everywhere, fix it where it lives

Capacity reads every project. Leveling works inside one.

Knowing someone is double-booked is only useful if it shows up across all their work, and a fix is only safe if it respects the links in the plan it moves.

  • The capacity view is organization-wide, so a person committed on three projects in one week shows as one over-full week.

  • Leveling runs on one schedule, suggesting later starts for medium and low priority work and leaving critical and high-priority tasks where they are. It moves by hours, not links; an applied move holds its new start, and the tasks after it follow.

  • Which project gives way is your call. The clash is shown; nothing decides between your projects for you.

Leveling suggests later starts inside one schedule; critical and high-priority tasks stay where they are.

Questions resource managers ask

Which plan do I need?

Capacity planning, the forward forecast and the load shown when you assign are on the Professional plan and up. Team workload is on every plan, including Free, and so is leveling a schedule on the Gantt. AI schedule suggestions are on the Business plan and up.

Will it settle a clash between my projects for me?

No, and this is the honest limit. Capacity reads every project at once, so you see that one person is committed on three projects in the same week. Leveling runs on one schedule at a time, so it suggests moves inside that project but does not decide which project gives way. It shows the clash; the call is yours.

Does booked time off count?

Yes. Booked time off comes out of the hours a person has. If you set an explicit capacity for that person and week, your figure wins and the time off is not taken off it again.

Will it move my tasks without asking?

No. Leveling and AI schedule suggestions both show their moves first. You pick the ones to apply, and anything you leave is untouched.

Can I try it on a Microsoft Project file first?

Yes. The free resource leveler and allocation heatmap run on an uploaded .mpp or Project XML file with no account, and the same file imports into Onplana on every plan.
